Summer in March

Since last week was so incredibly warm, we decided to snowshoe up to Camp III and meet some friends on the deck for some sun and drinks.  No better way to spend a Sunday!

Chrissy's 30th Birthday

We drove to Foxwoods, CT the other weekend to celebrate Chrissy's 30th birthday.  The food was amazing and we had such a great time :-)

Nap time means sewing time

Lately I've been able to take advantage of L's nap time so I can sew, although there are many times when I wish I could just sleep for a few hours, too.

I have all my squares cut out for L's quilt.  I love the clean design of this pattern and now just have to decide on the layout.

Two pouches made today!

The yellow fold-over pouch is on it's way to a dear friend as sort of a "replacement" for Thor chewing her hat when she came to visit back in January.  Why do Labs have to put everything in their mouth?

I'm going to use the gray one for myself to keep all of my computer cords and adaptors together rather than having them all over the bottom of my school bag.  Trying to be organized!

Cereal

Our little man seems to be oh so hungry lately, so we've been trying some cereal.  It's definitely NOT his favorite thing...

but he does love sitting in his new high-chair!

T-Shirt Bag

I'm finding a few minutes here and there to sew which is making me very happy.

I made this bag for a good friend of mine who is the varsity lax coach at our high school.  The season starts in just a few weeks and I wanted her to have this before then.  I'm psyched with how it came out and I think she is, too.

Happy 4 Months!

Smiles and laughter fill most of our days.

A Swing of Emotions

He started of so happy...

Played a bit with his feet...

Sat with his truck...

And then was totally done.

On the move!

He has front to back down pretty well, not we're just working on back to front.
And a tooth on the way... can't believe L is almost 4 months old!

Mobile

As I was searching online for DIY ideas for L's room, I found this bird mobile pattern from Spool and totally fell in love with it.  It took me maybe a total of two hours to make, not including the walk I took with Thor to find the sticks.  The mobile hangs right over L's crib and he loves looking at it.  I am so happy with how it turned out!

An Update

So...  it has been about four months since I last wrote a post on this blog.  SO much has happened since then!  Over the months I have sat down to write and haven't really known where to start so I haven't written anything.  Hopefully the posts will be on a more regular basis from now on.

Here's a quick photo recap of the past four months...  enjoy!

Lukas was born at 5:03pm on Sunday October 2, 2011.  My labor was pretty easy and the actual delivery went fast.  It was about 12 hours from when my water broke at home till I was holding him in my arms.  I keep thinking back to that day and am so thankful that everything went so well and we have a happy and healthy baby boy.  We couldn't be happier.

So tired!  Getting dressed and ready to come home from the hospital.  It was so wonderful to have all Luk's grandparents there to celebrate his birth.  He is so loved.

Handsome boy.

So we have this tradition with our friends every year.  We get together, have some spiced cider and carve jack-o-lanterns each Halloween.  We have a contest to see who's is the best but there is never a prize... just pride.  You can see Luk's first little pumpkin on the top step.  A classic design for his first Halloween.

One month old!

My parents always took photos of us on the first day of school and I've decided to keep that tradition alive.  Here is Luk ready for his first day of school.  I would of course rather stay home with him, but that isn't in the cards right now.  I know he is in good hands while I'm at school each day.  The best part of my day is when I pick him up and he's all smiles when I walk in the door :-)

2 months old!  Totally posing for the camera.

Picking out Luk's first Christmas Tree.  All the holiday traditions were much more meaningful this year.

First hockey game at PSU.  He's already a little athlete.  His legs never stop moving!

He's so happy all the time.  Wakes up smiling and laughs all day.  He is absolutely the best and makes us so very thankful.

3 months old!

Best friends :-)  Thor is never too far away from Luk and is always bringing him bones and balls to play with.  Thor will be SO excited when Luk can actually play with him someday!

It's true what everyone says.  They do grow so fast!

4 more weeks...

I can't believe that our little Boy's due date is just 4 weeks away!

We are getting very excited (and nervous!) and can't wait to see who he looks like and to hold him in our arms.

Now... we just need to decide on a name!

Thor at the Lake

I really do think Thor lives THE life.  What's better than spending the day at the lake swimming and boating?  Not much, that's for sure.

racing
he LOVES rolling in the sand after swimming
so handsome
looking regal on the back of the boat
a little hard to balance a canoe with an 85lb dog in the middle

Mobile for Baby S.

We are trying very hard not to spend a ton of cash getting ready for Baby S., and I knew I wanted to make a mobile for his room.  So when I stumbled upon this the other day, I knew it would be perfect for his room! I've made some of the birds already with some scraps of fabric and Spool's super easy pattern.  I'll post some photos when it's all done.  I can't wait to see it hanging in his room!

Baby S. at Fenway

Our little boy is well on his way of understanding the importance of being a Red Sox fan.  He already has Sox books, onesies, and the coolest little hat.  We wanted to expose him to the wonders of Fenway as soon as possible, so we went to a game a few weeks ago and are going to another one in a few more weeks.  There aren't too many things that beat watching the Sox win at Fenway.
